Privacy policy

We collect only the information needed to operate the Extra Space marketplace and manage storage requests.

Information we collect

Customers provide their name, email, phone number, requested dates and any optional booking notes. Providers also provide account, business, listing, address and availability information. We store sign-in security data as one-way password hashes, never as readable passwords.

How we use it

We use this information to match storage, assess availability, manage booking requests and payments, provide account access, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Incomplete and failed booking details are visible only to the Extra Space broker for customer assistance. They are not shown in provider dashboards. We do not sell personal information.

Location information

Radius searches use centroids for the suburb or locality you select. We do not request precise device location. Provider street addresses are stored privately and are not displayed in public search results.

Storage and disclosure

Information is stored on systems used to operate this website. Before confirmation, a selected provider receives only the booking reference, unit type and requested dates. Customer contact details are released to that provider only when the booking is confirmed. The provider’s identity, exact address and contact details are likewise released to the customer only after confirmation. Information may also be disclosed to infrastructure and payment providers where needed to deliver the service or where required by law.

Marketplace activity

We record privacy-preserving search, offer and viewing events so we can operate priority matching and show genuine recent-interest messages. Public interest messages use aggregated session counts and expire automatically. They do not identify individual visitors.

Access and correction

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by contacting Extra Space or the provider handling your booking. Providers can update their current listings through the provider dashboard.
